Matty G won the Grade I Hollywood Futurity at two, and the Grade 3 Ascot Handicap at three, along with two stakes placings at three.  He earned almost all of his $443,275 at two and three.

His sire is two-year-old champion Capote, sire of 58 stakes winners, and his dam is stakes-placed Star Gem ($253,941), who produced not only Matty G but also three other stakes horses, including Star of Cozzene ($2,102,964), who won or placed in twenty stakes races, sixteen of them graded.  Matty G was bred to be a runner and sire.

He's the sire of four graded stakes winners, and is siring some wonderful early developers — all but one of his stakes horses earned black type at two and/or three, and seven of them did it as two-year-olds. He's siring durability as well as quality.  Eight of his fifteen stakes horses are still racing at ages two to seven.  His runners have averaged almost sixteen starts each, with many still racing and adding to that total.

Matty G has been bred to mares of only average quality, and he's moved them up.  His Average Earnings Index of 1.25 is well above his Comparable Index of 1.06 — the AEI of runners out of those mares when they were bred to other sires.

Matty G brings an exceptional level of both racing performance and sire quality to Washington.

How they're doing
